You need to break out that new multimeter and start measuring your charger's output. That would put a lot of your fears at rest. After you have the batteries installed and when you have the shore power on, measure at the battery posts for voltage. Since you have a fully charged bank, voltage from the converter should be 13.2 --->13.6 volts.
Batteries and installed and connected to shore power with the fridge on to get cooled for tomorrow.
Current meter level shows the voltage to be 13.22 Volts when connected to shore power.
I would assume this is not much voltage output and I won;t have to worry about this on-board charger overcharging or boiling the batteries when connected to shore power for a day or two right?
If this is low voltage output from my onboard charger and I want to charge my batteries from a honda 2K at the camp site how should I charge em? Should I run this still with only giving out 13.22 or should I bring my Schumacker charger and connect the portable charger to the generator and connect the leads to the batteries that way for a larger 14+v charge so they charge quicker, use less gas, and are done charging quicker?
thanks so much for the info ... just getting all my last questions out of the way before we head out for 5 days tomorrow morning. :)
