I use the same method as Halmfamily ! Works good and is very simple.
When possible and on an incline I put the boards down, back up, then pull forward over them. It's a litle easier on the transmission.
Also, cutting a 45degree angle on one end of each board makes it a little easier to ramp the tires onto the board.

Actually it's easier on your transmission to do it in reverse because it's geared lower in reverse than 1st in most applications
