How much does you RV shop charge?

I do a lot of my own repairs but when I cannot fix it I take it to our local RV shop which does a great job and usually has most needed parts in stock. I had an appointment this morning at 8am to repair my hot water heater. They took it in at 8am as promised and had it repaired and ready for me to leave at 10am. Parts ran just over $40 but they have raised their labor rate to $110 per hour so the labor was $220 plus the $19.95 shop supply charge. (Which we all know is a rip)

I guess you get what you pay for. I got good service in a timely manner but this seems a little high. Just wondering what the going shop rate is now.

  • Camping World and La Mesa RV here in Tucson both have a $130 p/hr labor rate which is absurd! I have had good luck with LMRV getting things right but with CW..... not so much. :R

Ironically when I visited the Nexus factory in Elkhart their labor rate was $75 an hour and the work was excellent.

  • Not high at all. Even the shop fee seems reasonable. I guess it could be 15.95.
  • My local shop was up to $95.00 an hour but that was a few years ago.
