How to access '91 Southwind shower diverter

Hello All - A full-timer neighbor has a '91 FW Southwind in nice shape. The tub/shower is perpendicular, with the faucet/diverter against the driver side wall. It needs to be replaced, and even the local RV repair guy can't find access.

There's no panel on the outside, no space between the shower wall and the coach wall. The soap dish assembly looks like an access, but with it removed, still no sight-line or hand-space to the back of the faucet.

We don't see any way to get a hand behind the faucet to remove & replace. What are we missing here?

Thanks for any ideas!

  • Our NT looks like they mounted the diverter to the shower wall then installed the enclosure. No access, so I cut the wall around the diverter and installed a mounting box for the new diverter.
  • Thank you gbopp -- I will take another look, but it sure *appears* to be a single-piece 3-sided shower/tub unit. I can't believe they would let it out the door without the ability to change a faucet! I will let you know, and thanks again -- Wayne.
  • Our 96 Southwind has a large panel around the shower faucets. It took me a little while to figure out ho to remove it.
It looked like it was a one piece molded wall in the shower.
Take another look at it. Mine had no other access to repair/replace the fixture.
