Mex says that 20% is important to get the electrolyte fully absorbed (or something like that)
Note the AGM needs to be under 75% SOC to accept a 20% charging rate, since that is about where Bulk ends with a 20% rate, and amps start to taper. That means if you are on solar doing daily shallow cycles for a long time, you will never do the proper 20%.
It might mean you should do a deep cycle on purpose every so often and have enough charger amps and a gen to run that if off grid in order to meet the spec. Beats me.
It just means you have to buy new batteries sooner, but no idea how much sooner. They don't last forever anyway, no matter what you do right.
