On solar,
1. How do you meet the spec that says do Bulk at 20% charging rate?
That would mean a lot of watts on the roof.
2. How do you maintain that charging rate while the sun goes up and then down?
3. How do you know you are down to that 0.5a/100AH? The solar controller amps go to loads first, so without a battery monitor or some other ammeter at the battery, you don't know what the amps to the battery are.
1. not necessary for low slow charging. The telecom cells reacted well to just 17 amps of charging--with temperature compensated voltage. Battery bank size is 556 amp-hours.
2. the charger picks up from where it left off.
3. my blue sky 3024di blue sky charge controller displays voltage and current alternately.
PT, you don't even have Lifeline AGMs, so your low slow charging has no meaning for the Lifeline specs! Or Trojan AGMs either, which also specify that 20% rate.
So what's your point exactly???
Also you know the controller does not show amps to the battery, so it can't tell if you are at the 0.5a/100AH marker for being full. So why mention that????
Here again is the Trojan AGM charging guide in case you have forgotten that. 5.2.2
