PT, the Lifeline and Trojan 20% charging spec is meant as a minimum for Bulk stage, but that is still under the max charging spec of say 27% or whatever for a particular AGM (except Lifelines which allow more of a charging rate.)
I don't see how your controller can tell how many amps are going to loads and how many to the battery. One controller does have an extra gizmo to add onto it with a shunt so it can tell battery amps.
