The slide will not come in or go out in my 2000 fleetwood Terry, model 275J. I have replaced the controller, in hopes that was the problem since the original one showed only 10 volts going to the moto...

This is a REVERSING POLARITY MOTOR. The polarity on the red and black wires + and - REVERSES with a switch. The metal body of the motor has no electrical connection to anything.
So connect your + and - jumpers to the red and black wire terminals and see what happens. Then reverse them. You should not see a heavy blue spark if the motor gear is disconnected from the load.
I got tired of screwing with the cheap switches OEM uses with slide outs, and now use a 100-amp Trombetta reversing solenoid. 30 amperes through a fast-on switch terminal is asking for a fire.
