We had this problem, too. We cleaned the burner, orifice and flue but still had the problem. After searching forever on the internet we read that we should check the igniter distance of the arc gap. We did and ours was too close. It should be 1/8" to 3/16". Have a look at arprv.com/rv-fridge-flame.html. We haven't had a problem now for months.
Good to know.
The electrode on the old igniter was bent, but the new one was not. The guy told me I should not have to bend it, and that it could breal the insulator if I did.
When I installed it, I noticed the gap was small, but figured no biggee. But I believe it is a biggee, because it definently has more trouble lighting now than before I changed it, It now sometimes even explodes in the flue a time or 2 before it lites. I will check that gap, and either adjust (bend) it, or reinstall the old one.
Doug's comment,....the guy said the same thing about those solder joints, and while I haven't remover the cover yet, I didn't notice any looseness in the connection. But I will take it farther.
I know one thing, I sure do hate trial and erroring a $200 control board !!
Thanks for all the comments. I will post back when solved.
