- corvettekentExplorerUse Google to find your local Interstate battery dealer. I bought four Interstate industrial golf cart 6 volt batteries that are 235 AH each. So that's 470 AH at 12 volts.
- LwiddisExplorer IIA residential fridge that uses how much electricity? Group 24 batteries aren’t wroth buying at all...usable 35-40 amp hours?

Sadly the industry keeps calling MARINE "dual purpose" batteries "deep cycle" when they are not !
The ONLY COMMONLY AVAILABLE DEEP CYCLE LEAD ACID BATTERIES ARE GOLF CART BATTERIES ! - wa8yxmExplorer IIIThe Link 404ed on me and the batteries Google found make no sense.
A Group 31 is around 130 amp hours but if it is a MARIME/deep cucle you can only use about 25% of that
A Golf Car battery.. As I recall the 12V types are aroud the same capacity but you can use 50% of it. That's the difference. the GOLF CAR batteries are DEEP CYCLE as opposed to MARINE (starting)/deep cycle (note the change of case). - theoldwizard1Explorer II

We pick up our used toyhauler next Wednesday. It has a residential fridge. That is where my battery concern starts. Dealer agreed to put in two new group 24 12 volts. I inquired about upgrading to two 31's. They said add $120 as that is what a group 31 would cost them and they can get two 24's for $60 each. Would my best bet still be two 6 volts?
ABSOLUTELY !
As Gdetrailer stated, a pair of "average" 6V GC2 golf cart batteries has the capacity of 210Ah.
A pair of "dual purpose" Group 24 batteries is approximately 150Ah. They cost more than "average" GC2 golf cart batteries
A pair of "dual purpose" Group 31 batteries is approximately 210Ah. They are physically larger than a pair of GC2 or Group 24 batteries. They cost more than "dual purpose" Group 24 batteries
The only reason RV dealers and camping stores sell them is better marketing ! - theoldwizard1Explorer II

Nothing wrong with Trojan T1275 ... except the price ! :E - BFL13Explorer IIYour best bet would be four 6s. Two 6s is better than two 24s or 31s but maybe not enough for what toy haulers might get up to out there! :)

- LwiddisExplorer IIForget about “reserve” capacity. Deal in amp hours to determine an RV battery’s capably
- BFL13Explorer III must have liked those T-1275s because I used them more like in a scrubber. High inverter draws but not much time doing that in a day.
The golf cars they sold had either four 12v T-1275s or else six 8 volt batts. He said they were going over to use six 8s mostly because ISTR that way the car had more oomph up hill or something like that. Been a while.
