Inverter issues

Hi,
I bought a Thor 3000watt inverter , so I can plug my whip from my rv into it and power up the camper, so I don't have to run my generator.

Its a 2016 work and play 34WRS. I have a Yamaha 6300ise generator.

It does not work because my neutral wire is attached to my negative battery post.

So, is their away around making this inverter work?

Thanks in advanced.

  • Why is the shore cord neutral connected to battery negative
    That is against wiring code

Only the ground should be attached to buss bar frame ground
Neutral should not be grounded at all

Should only be attached to the "unbonded" neutral bar in the breaker panel

Is this an installed generator, or a portable generator,
If installed, it was not installed correctly, if portable it should not be connected at all and has nothing to do with the problem , If it is unplugged
  • RV should not have a bond between neutral and ground. Or is the bond created by the inverter?
