On inverter and the generator location issue, who cares? If you are on gen the inverter is off. Who cares how hot it gets when it is off?
WOW are you really that unaware of how sensitive the electronics in an inverter are to heat. The one who cares is the one has to replace it after installing it in the wrong place.
You will notice that there is no genny in menas' compartment.
I had to hang the inverter outside the engine compartment, where perched on the fender it got too hot from the engine running and quit.
But that was when I was trying to use the inverter.
