Most flat screen TV's are 12 volt to begin with. They have what's often called a wall wart, that's on the end of the cord that plugs into the 120 volt wall receptacle. If you look close at that wall wart, it will tell you that it's input is 120v and if the out put is 12v. That cord can be unplugged from the TV. Now just find a new cord that one end will plug into the TV, and the other end will plug into your 12v outlet, and has the same polarity.
