Yes. If you have a small battery array and no solar, then many people choose to turn it off.
I have solar which is constantly charging, so to me, it's not an issue. Leaving it on does not make it wear out faster. Were I in your shoes, I might consider more battery to make up for it, rather than a switching system.
I'm not familiar with that brand of inverter. Are they expensive?
It was $500 from camping world..
