- mikestockExplorerI have owned an EU3000is since 2001 and have used it to operate 3 different 15k air conditioners.
If you decide you need more power you can always add an EU2000i and run them parallel. This will work just like an EU2000i and an EU2000i companion. I do this at times and am able to run both of my air conditioner units at the same time. One is a 15K and the other is a 13.5k. As long as they don't try to start at the same time it works fine.
Honda doesn't advertise it but all or their EU units can be mixed and matched. You can even parallel three at a time. - nevadanickExplorerI have a 3000 Honda and it runs my 13,5 but everything needs to be turned off to use it. I am almost always at 5k ft or more. At sea level its has no problem .
- Mr_BeeboExplorerI had the EU 3000 and was very satisfied with it. Yes, it ran my 13500 ac no problem. I later sold it and went with 2 2000 Champions for the higher output(1700 w each)and the versatility. When buying a red, blue or yellow, 99% of the time it is all about preference.
- ShaungExplorerThanks for all the advice.
- BFL13Explorer III cannot lift the Honda 3000 above my knees. It stays on a dolly platform the height of the truck bed when at home, and I just wheel the dolly over and drag the Honda across into the truck and VV. I have used a plank to slide/wiggle/work the Honda up on into the truck too but that is not as good as having the dolly platform.
I have to remove the 5er hitch first and the Honda goes between the tool box behind the cab and the hitch. If you have a short bed truck then no tool box. The Honda 3000 is too tall to go under the 5er overhang behind the hitch. - mlts22Explorer IIRemote start is well worth it, and not too bad a price ($150 on Amazon) for that generator.
- pa_travelerExplorerLooking forward to purchasing a eu 3000 some time soon,I think you can get remote start.I like the quietness.
- jalichtyExplorerI would have gone with the 3000 if I could have lifted it in and out of my truck bed. We camped across the road from a guy with a 3000 and it was very quiet and unobtrusive. However, at 135-150 pounds, it's just too much for me so I bought another 2000 to parallel with the one I had. Now, I have plenty of power should I need the AC, but can only use one when I don't need all that power.
- mlts22Explorer IIEven though I prefer the 3000iSEB from Yamaha because of the 500 watts for 10 seconds, the 3000 watt Honda isn't bad. Adding a hard start capacitor to the A/C may help things so the inrush current isn't as bad for the generator.
- If you can lift the 3000 it will work very well for you.
