- C_B_Explorer IITwo 2000 Hondas will give you 2000W each max, 1600W rated each for a total of 3200W when paralleled.
The 3000 will give you 3000W max and 2800W rated.
Because of the above ratings I opted to go with the 6500is that is 6500W max and 5500W rated.

According to my local Honda dealer who sells a number of units to RV'rs, the EU3000iS has on occasion been unable to power some 13,500 or 15,000 BTU a/c's. Even Honda says the EU3000iS will power "most" 13,500 BTU a/c's.
I've got a 30'keystone with 1 a/c unit that I believe is a 13,500btu.I want to be able to run the a/c and still watch movies etc. Do you think I will have any issues with those generator?I don't like to feel restrained from what I can and can't do.
The one major advantage of using two EU2000i's is the additional 1000 watts of surge capability vs. one EU3000iS--4000 watts vs. 3000 watts--that's quite a bit of additional headroom.
The EU3000iS has great sound level specs (49-58db--25% to full load) not to mention electric start. If you can verify beforehand that it will power your current (and future??) a/c needs IMO it's an outstanding choice. - stevekkExplorerWhatever you choice watch out about the noise.
The Honda 3000 is pretty quiet, if not the quietest.
Look for the DB rating. - sclarkExplorerAs mentioned above the 3000 will run the AC. Ours will not run both the AC and the MW at the same time. (we have 15Kbtu) We have had both the twin 2000s and the 3000 Honda. No problem with the AC and the TV running at the same time. We would still be using the twin 2000s if one of the inverters had not gone south after 8 years. Good luck with your decision.
- VintageRacerExplorerA similar option is the Yamaha EF3000ISEB. Very similar in size, specification and performance with one big difference - it has a battery boost feature that lets the generator draw extra power from it's start battery to help satisfy starting surge requirements when starting motors.
Brian - CrabbypattyExplorerIve had mine for 10 years and it works great! I decided on this instead of twin 2000's for the elctric start and large fuel tank. This way my wife can operate it. The only downside is its heavy when full of gas. As for the AC install a "hard start kit" which is a larger capacitor and that will kick start the AC. Works perfectly.
- TucsonJimExplorer III've owned the EU3000IS for six years now. It will run my A/C and other items most of the time with no problems at all. But NinerBikes is correct. If you want to run the microwave, just shut off the A/C while you're running it. The only other issue I ran into was when the DW was using a hair dryer with the A/C on. But if you overload the genertor, it's not a problem. Just go outside and reset it after you lighten the load.
- NinerBikesExplorerYou'll be less restrained by being able to run the AC and the microwave, with a pair of EU2000i's. The Eu3000i would be strained with both those items starting.
