Is it ok to travel with a full plastic gas can on my bumper?
It doesn't seem safe but what else would I do? I haven't used my genny enough yet to know when I will need gas.

- Diesel doesn't have the explosive properties that gasoline does though.

I would not recommend that, but I've done worse probably with up to 20 gal of diesel albeit for short periods. Probably a better solution would be either on the tongue or even inside the trailer on the floor somewhere like just inside the door and then just set it outside when you stop.
Larry- Have you seen one of hose plastic gas cans expand, and even blow, when in the direct sun?

Well maybe except the FRONT bumper.
Are you OK with a big explosion right in your face ?? :E- Carry the fuel can empty. Use it to run for gas as needed.

There is a Gas can set up that holds ten gallons, it mounts behind the spare tire hanger on the Jeep Wrangler, So it's not illegal. I would not carry one myself. I would stop and fill a gas can if I carried one before I got to my camp site.- Put the can anywhere but the rear bumper. Are you OK with a big explosion behind your trailer?
