Have you prioritized your Inverter/Load Circuit?
A/C off
Converter Off
Refrigerator off
Hot water heater off
Bedroom CPAP outlet ON (split receptacle) electric blanket OFF
Galley receptacle for coffee ON
Using DPDT relays it is quite feasible to prioritize must have circuits without doing a major re-wire...
How SMART did the factory wire your rig?
Off your topic, but just for grins: At 3:00AM whether we're on FHU with a power outage, or drycamping with a power outage somewhere:
- The refrig keeps running.
- The hot water heater will come on if we switch it on, but we keep it off between uses.
- Both CPAP units keep running.
- Coffee can still be made using a propane galley burner.
- The converter can be made to operate if no other campers are around and we start either generator.
- The A/C can be made to operate if no other campers are around and we start the big generator.
- The propane furnace keeps running.
- As backup, the RV can be kept warm or cool and the batteries can be kept charged by idling the big engine if no other campers are around.
- The microwave can be made to operate if no other campers are around and we start the big generator.
- The oven can be lit and used.
But if on FHU at 3:00AM and the power goes off, probably we'll be up from others' generators that are up and singing all around us.
