Yes you are pulling power from the batteries, this extends the run time recharge by whatever amount of power was pulled from the batteries

Hmmm .... it looks there's two workable configurations if you want to RV camp off-pedestal like you can on-pedestal:

1. Small generator that just barely runs the A/C plus a large inverter and battery system. (Plus maybe solar.)

OR

2. Large generator that runs everything anytime plus only a small inverter and small (or large, for other reasons) battery system. (Plus maybe solar.)

IMHO, part of configuration 1. plus part of configuration 2. is the preferred setup -> large generator plus large inverter and battery system. (Plus maybe solar.)

We have configuration 2. in our RV but mix in something odd because it provides more flexibilty - we carry along a small generator instead of having solar.
