jack removal

What should I know before attempting to remove the center hydraulic jack of my lippert level up system that is leaking. I have checked and it is not the fitting leaking. So i must take it off to have it rebuilt. hopefully this is not a major job to remove and reinstall looking for any ideas.

thanks jim
  • If You Pinch off the Hose with a pair of Vicegrip type pliers You will lose less Fluid!
  • Pretty straight forward. Remove the hydraulic hose, you'll lose a bit of fluid, keep it clean so no dirt enters and then just unbolt the unit from the frame. Take it to a hydraulic repair facility. They know how to do hydraulic cylinders and thats really all you have...a heavy duty hydraulic cylinder. Cost will be less than a RV facility. Farming communities have at least one facility like that because of the hydraulics on farming equipment.
