Remember my *****ing about "buzzwords"?
Phrases and Terminology mean things. Specific things.
This includes batteries.
Equalization: Fully charging a battery THEN putting a constant current (amperage that does NOT change) charge equaling the SUM of 5% of battery 20 hour ampere capacity. Charge constant current until one of two things happen. All cells revive to OEM SG density or 16.00 volts is reached.
NOW, does this sound like something that is appropriate for an AGM battery?
CONDITIONING
Charging an absorbed glass mat battery at .5 (that means one-half) volt higher than what OEM recommends as a temperature compensated ABSORBSION charge voltage limit. If it is 14.2 volts, add + point five to get 14.7
Condition charge until such time as amperes flowing into the battery reduce to less than 3% of battery ampere hour capacity OR until ANY perceptible rise in cell temperature is noted. CEASE CONDITIONING.
TOP CHARGING (My Term)
Fully charge battery. Charge battery further with a rate of 2% of amp hour rating until such time as voltage reaches 15.0 then terminate the top charge.
YES!
All voltage values above SHOULD be modified to compensate for cell temperature. Temperature of unconnected battery post is fine for this.
