YOu forget taxes.. But that said There is, at least in the USA a move to get rid of OTA. I do not think it will succeed.. But the greedy Cable/Sat providers. I think this "Get rid of OTA" is another Madalyn Murray O'Hair petition thing (She never filed one but every religious broadcaster from the pacific to the atlantic and beyond was asking folks to write the FCC).. (There is more but don't matter).
I think OTA is here to stay.. And like I said. I get all the tv I can watch and then some . all recorded for later playback (Watching NCIS as I type) and all for 25 bucks a year and that is JUST for the electronic program guide.
