Just replaced the step motor and module on my 2000 Monaco Windsor(A arm single step)and also new 4-way plug.The only way to make the step work is unplug the Brown wire to the 4-way,step extends plug back in step retracts.They give you three test to check your 4-way plug it passed the main power source, the step switch,but failed the door switch test i have 12.5 between brown and red when door is open and when door is closed but remember these test are done on the power side of the plug. I've checked fuses step and motor, checked entry step switch, checked magnet on door jamb. Throw me some ideas, i'am leaving in a week if push comes to shove i will unhook the brown wire when parked so i have a step, but i would like to get to the bottom of it. Thanks 3708

When I had my problem it turned out to be the door buttons that cause the step to go out and come in. If you replace it make sure you stick with the same colour. I don't know why but I was told that when I bough mine.

fischer i agree, and i do have the owner's manuel #888. but what puzzel's me is once you unplug the 4-way you have now isolated the step, doorjamb magnet switch, entry step switch, power module everything to do with that step from the vehicle side, excuse me the entry step switch does get power from vehicle side prior to the 4-way but i changed that with no luck.:h

Did you perform the test to see if the controller was good or bad?
