L-16 AGM

Hi,

I have a space problem.

Will two AGM six volt jars fit in the same space as three Group 29 flooded cells? The AGM could lay on their sides.
  • Hi,

The 550 comes from the retail dealer. Truewest Solar in Val Marie, SK. Because they are agm I can lay them on their sides. They are Rolls Surrette batteries. I'd be very happy with them, if I can make them fit!

Surrette says 400 amp-hours, but I'm planning on four.

The 20 amp rate is 370.
Having two to make 12v gives you... 370 amps.

Where did the 550 come from?

Nice batteries, but they are very tall and heavy.

    A group 29 is ~length 13, width 6.75, height 10

I think the width might stop the batteries from fitting.. its close.
  • Hi 2old,

Yes, I will be doing so, but was hoping someone already had.

  • It's not the height he's wondering about,
It's the total volume, aka the foot print
Assuming his 3 grp 29, are noise in and side by side
The L16s would be turned 90° and placed one in front of the other
Are two L16s placed together, thicker than the length of a group 29 ?
  • Hi

I was unclear in my post. I want to put in 2 L-16 in the space that 3 group 29 jars will fit.

    More details:

They are 550 amp-hours for $340 each Canadian.

The GRP 29s I know of are 10" high.

The GC2 AGMs are 10.25" long, 7.13" wide and 10.9" high.

If your GRP29 case doesn't allow anything higher than 10", you would have to lay the GC2 AGMs so they are only 7.13" high. That make for a lot of wasted space.

But not knowing the true dimensions of the case, it's hard to say ...
