Depends on the charger. I think some of them just kick off and then won't restart unless you unplug and re-plug.
We've always just parked Mom's cart in the barn with the charger sitting on the platform in front of the seat. When spring comes, we drive the cart back out beside the garage and plug it in. Usually sits about 5 months through bitter sub-zero temps without charging.
If the batteries are fully charged when you park it, they will not lose much charge over the winter, and charged batteries don't seem to freeze.
