LCD Monitor for Back Up Camera - ACC?
Received my China made/limited instruction 7' LCD monitor with 2 video inputs. I paired it with a small camera to use as a back up camera. While the back up camera is pretty straight forward, I'm a bit confused with the connection process of the LCD monitor and I'm hoping someone here has installed a similar unit.
The "instructions" include a black and white diagram which shows three wires (in addition to the video connections). The wires are labeled ACC, DC+12V and Ground but are not identified by color.
There are three colored wires for me to use -- a blue, a black and a fused red. I am assuming the black wire is ground, fused red is constant 12V power, and through process of elimination, leaves the blue wire as ACC. Am I correct so far?
If I am, I'm guessing the ACC wire should be connected to a power source that only provides power when the van's ignition switch is on?
Finally, the back up camera only has two wires, black and red. I'm going to guess the black goes to ground and the red is connected to the power lead for the reverse lamp?
I've not attempted anything this "complex" before. I'm disappointed that the instructions are so lacking. Most of my battery work has been wiring batteries in series or parallel or wiring up 12V fans to male cigarette lighter type plugs instead of disposable batteries.
It would be great if someone who has done this before can "hand hold" through the project.
Thank you!
Carolyn
