I think it to be absolutely ridiculous that the manufacturer of a system would not know the EXACT size of the o-ring used. That indicates a high level of incompetence. Also, Forest River EXPLICITLY told me that it was OK to mix ATF and Hydraulic fluid. I did not do this, as it didn't make sense to me. BTW, the fluid that was in the resivoir was a thick dark fluid. I drained the resivoir, purged the pump and cylinder and cleaned everything before re-filling with trans/hydraulic fluid. Trans/hydraulic fluid is much clearer and as a result, hard to determine how full the resivoir is. This fluid works well in my Kubota tractor that has a much heavier duty hydraulic pump and many more cylinders than this stupid slide system.
I figure if Lippert is so incompetent that they don't know that size of the o-ring in their own system, then why trust them to tell me what type of fluid to use!
BTW, the system is STILL working GREAT. No leaks, lower amp draw, faster operation.... what more can I say? Maybe someone more competent needs to design a better system to replace this trash with.:h
