I am at about one month on the #348 nitrile quad ring and it appears to be holding well in spite of 102 degrees here in South Carolina. I saw my first leak at about 3 years and just cleaned the initial O-ring and went about 2 more years. I am not saying that it will never leak again but if I can get 3 plus years then I am happy. The leaks start slowly and are easy to fix and I get to clean out the tank and put in new ATF. I did not want to use Permatex or RTV for that reason.
I would be interested in nmjack's experience with the over sized ring as I consider that my next option if the leak comes back.
