Air Conditioners ARE also dehumidifiers.
Seems to me like your arrangement there is overkill.
You will need the battery to run the thermostat, probably.
If you have a good converter/charger, it should drop the voltage down to around 13.2 and "float" the batteries there to keep them charged and healthy. IF they are conventional wet cell type, the water level needs to be checked about every 30 days though.
