LED Backlighting of Glass Tile

I wonder if they were those new plastic "smart tiles" I saw at home depot. They have a very shiny finish. They could have some version that is made for lighting.

That was my thought also but the grout and mastic would have to be clear. The tile would also have to be removed from the backer.

or maybe an LED for each tile?

I believe there is a "clear" mastic made to be used with glass tile.
