Exactly. The OP could still utilise the same telescoping tubes/pipes by simply using small tubes, say 3/8" O.D. nesting into 1" O.D., then Cable coiled over these, then followed by another set of pipes over them, of accepted sized tubes. Unless of course he wishes to provide a design element of the cascading coiled cable around the telescoping tubes.
