When I was researching this topic years ago what I found was a statement by (I believe) Norcold in their owners manual that the allowed tolerance was up to 3 degrees side to side and 6 degrees front to back. I purchased small levels that were graduated in degrees and placed them on the refer. A quick check told me if I was OK to run the refer.
