500-miles on a Mexican highway will rub through the bottom of a plastic can set in the bed of a pickup. I've seen filled plastic tip over and split the seam. Newer metal cans are powder coated over hot dipped galvanized outside. The genuine original USA jerry cans (olive drab) were they same way. Each has it's advantages and disadvantages. This is nice. A choice is always nice.
