97% of China's lithium comes from Australia. And China is almost ******** their pants to divorce their connection with premium priced products.
I lived through the era of MADE IN JAPAN was a death knell for sales -- to the point where Japan tried renaming one tiny island "OOSA" spelled Usa, then the moniker then morphed to USA, the US justice dept soon remedied Usa.
Red China told Australia if they so much as sell Taiwan one kilo of lithium, their deal was off. Taiwan sells decent tools, excellent electronics, and excellent solar panels. Good luck finding one.
When I read just how much better a made-in USA solar panel is as compared to lower tier Chinese garbage I shook my head. Just like anything else, extraneous companies like Kyrocera and Honda can crack the whip and produce good products in China, but too much of the exports are landfill grade.
