Ok I capped it and now it's leaking out around the tube. I found a crack in the tube so I'm going to replace it but I'm not sure where it leads to it how long it is. If we turn the water on it pours out but we have good water pressure. I thought the low point drain was there too build pressure in the lines and if it wasn't capped there would be no pressure in the lines. I have bypassed the water heater and the fresh water tank as well as the water pump.
that is all you can do, fix the cracked section and see if the leaking stops. did it get frozen over the winter with water in it ? I know I got caught last fall by a freak cold snap but luckily all that was dammaged was my water heater isolation valve.
