- caysea7254Explorerok I use a hair dryer when dry camping, and nothing else runs while blowing my hair dry. But if there is a restroom with an outlet, I just do my hair there. Those low watt hair dryers take so much longer to dry your hair. I use the one I have at home 10 min tops to dry. Hey I know how it is, some of us don't have wash and go hair, sadly. Tara :)

- Yes a flattop or high-and-tight should dry very fast.
- Sport45Explorer IIWhen I read "Marine" above, I thought the suggestion was going to be a haircut. :)
- drmoparExplorerEasy solution-go to a Marine (Boat) shop, like West Marine and get the 12 volt unit. My Wife uses one all the time. It has lasted at least 8-10 years.

I need to get my hands on a low voltage hair dryer. I can't run my air and have my wife blow dry her hair when we're camping. Any ideas?
thanks

When she uses the hair dryer, just turn the A/C to "fan only." You will still move lots of cool air, and the 5 to 10 minutes of hair dryer use will not affect the inside temperature. After drying, just move the switch back to A/C. That way, the compressor in the A/C will not run (it is the big electric hog) and everyone will be happy. Better yet, teach her how to move the switch. - Dick_BExplorerX2 on 2oldman. We've been turning off the A/C while using the hair dryer for years.
- LadyRVerExplorer IINo a/c running or go to ladies bathroom and use the outlet if at a campground.
Have done it either way. - goreds2ExplorerDry it over the camp fire.
