- 2oldmanExplorer IIAmazon shows one at 180 watts. Compare that to the 1000w or more for a real hair dryer, and it's obvious it will take a long time to dry hair.
See if you can just turn off the a/c while she's doing that. I have to do that when using the MW. - downtheroadExplorer
- fly-swatterExplorerMy wife uses one of those 12V units on occasion and it does the job.
- Put the fridge and water on propane. DW can use the low setting and it will still be better than a 12 volt.
- pianotunaNomad IIIMove to a hybrid inverter/charger. It will supply the extra power needed for the air conditioner/hair drier combo by drawing energy from the battery bank. Then after the hair drier is turned off the batteries will recharge from the generator.
- Greene728ExplorerI run an additional cord from the 20amp receptacle at the post through the opening in the cargo compartment where the water hose comes in which also happens to be directly under tge bathroom sink. Then I added her a powerstrip in the cabinet and run the cord through the hole under the sink that the water lines come through. Plug the extension cord into the power strip and booyah! All the power she needs and I no longer am out in the dark or in the panel box resetting breakers!
- laknoxNomadUsed to be, you could get butane-fired blow dryers. Don't know if they're still around or if they use batteries, or what, for the fan.
Lyle - rhagfoExplorer IIITerry cloth towel! :B
