OP Wow 45 degree sun angle? That means lots of shade in the winter, either north or south US.
I'd mount the panels 5-6" high and right over the vents. That eliminates the vents, refer, shower and only leaves the AC and antenna as shadow sources and adds a lot of panel mounting options. Do you really need the vents 100% open???
