Messed up my Fantastic fan....
I'm a dork. I took it apart from above for the first time to clean it. I'd watched a video on how to do it over a year ago and thought I remembered. I ended up opening up the motor, and there is no way to get that thing back together. Well, now that I know how to separate the fan from the motor I might be able to do it by inverting it but there are these two little magnets in the cap that meet one another (tension supplied by two little springs. I think I have them back in position correctly but when I press the cap down on that connection it doesn't come on. And it presses the fan blade part down too far. I really messed it up. I'll try separating the motor tomorrow and see if I can get it together that way.
So can I buy just the motor from Fantastic Vent? I found one on eBay, looks compatible, includes the fan which I don't need. Checked the fuse, it's in good shape. I killed the 12v before doing any work on them. The other one is working but this one isn't firing up.
And if there's a wire the goes down into the vent's frame can I cut that and put a connector between that wire and the one coming from the motor I put in?
