- GeoffW90ExplorerHi,
I installed the Micro-Air earlier this month on my Cougar TT with a 15K BTU a/c. Before the install my twin Yamaha 2000isT gennys and they wouldn't kick it over, even off eco mode.
Installed the Micro-Air and now one genny runs it. I mean, it is working hard and I will still use them in twin mode, but one will do it... I am impressed!

Hi,
Which inverter? I have the 3012 Magnum hybrid. I could start the roof air even before I acquired the microair.
Yes the 3012 and it would start my 15k BTU Coleman about half the time the other half it would go into overload. Even if it started it usually beeped and logged an overload. The 15k A/C pulls 70+ amps startup surge.
The reason I installed the Easystart is I have the whole panel running through the inverter and even on gen or shore power the Magnum is so sensitive to voltage sags that the A/C start surge would sometimes cause the inverter to disconnect shore and try and start the A/C itself. Easystart elminated that issue and as a side effect can start it no problem on batteries. - ktmrfsExplorer II

:) Hi, I just had Micro-Air install a unit on my trailer. No experience yet. My trailer has an 11,000 BTU air conditioner and I have had no problem running it with my Yamaha 2400 generator. My concerns were high altitude and high ambient temps at the same time. This could make it difficult to start the air conditioner compressor. This is why I had a Micro-Air installed.
the micro air solves the starting problem. However it does NOT reduce running current. I love mine, but I found out (somewhat expected) that around 4,000ft the honda 2000 will overload with my Coleman MachIII on a hot day. John Day oregon, roughly 4000Ft, 95F, honda 2000 would trip out after about 10 minutes.
Now the yamaha 2400 and 11KBTU AC probably has enough margin to keep you going.
The density altitude when mine kicked out was about 6,000Ft. High temps, + high altitude= even higher "equivalent" altitude. As an example, sea level at 95F is about the same air density as 2300ft at 60F. - gmctoymanExplorerOrdered mine, thanks for the responses.
There are a few "discount" codes for $25 off the price available on the net .... - 2oldmanExplorer IIWhenever my a/c starts up on generator, the Sirius boom box shuts off. Perhaps I could use this device.
- CJW8ExplorerTheir 3 ton unit is sufficient for both 13.5K and 15K BTU AC's. I have 2 15K AC's and recently installed Microair's on each. Definitely less strain on generator when AC starts.
- Paul_ClancyExplorerI installed mine. Works as advertised. 15000 btu dometic hp and Honda eu2200.

- pianotunaNomad IIIHi,
I got their smallest unit. Roof air is a 13500 btu Dometic.diftw wrote:
How do you determine which model you need? - pianotunaNomad IIIHi,

can start my A/C off my Magnum Inverter if I want.
