Both will give you a view, but will be smaller than your normal mirror. Another cheap option is to buy another inside mirror and mount it above or below the current inside mirror. Aim one out the back glass, and aim the second one to the passenger side as needed.
The advantage to having two inside rear view mirrors is that you only have to look in one general area to see both views.
