Mistery Ford part answer

From the closed thread is a plug to allow draining of the oil or oil filter

    I sent you a PM "thank you", and responded to the people who wanted to know the answer.
    The truck has @ 2300 miles on it, so has never had an oil change.
    I grew up on Chevys, but have seen more old Fords on the road, in great shape, telling me, I don't care what the adds say, I know who makes the best truck NOW.
    I appreciate the help.
  • My guess is he recently had an oil change and the cover did not get put back properly.

    We have a Nissan 4x4 with a bolt on cover below the oil filter. After an oil change outside of my supervision it came back with only one of the four bolts holding the cover on.

    Usually I change my own oil because of things like this.
