I never found that to be true on either of my PDs. My PD55 amp would completely bury the needle on a 50 amp analog meter, and trip the breaker on my eu1000 every time, and my batteries seldom if ever get discharged 50%.
Now my 9245 does all of 45 amps for a few seconds,.....doesn't kill the eu1000, but its barking loudly for a minute or so making ya wonder
