My little ditty was to show that indeed there is a formula and indeed it is important especially for generator run times. Sulfation hardening is an amplitude time issue. Therefore a weeks's camping trip with to 80% SOC recharging is not going to hurt a darned thing. Of course flooded batteries -must- be recharged then top charged upon return and connection to public power.
This is to establish minimum generator run times. 14.8 is a good all around voltage limit.
Secondly, this formula is mostly invalid for off grid wilderness living.
