MSW Inverter

I want to install a Go-Power 1750 MSW Inverter to run the coffee pot. I wonder if there would be any problems using a MSW Inverter on a coffee pot that has digital clock and programing circuits. I only plan on just turning the coffee pot on to make coffee. I do not care about the programing features. Will the MSW damage the coffee pot and not make it work. I have small SW inverter to run the TV and other small loads. I do have the battery bank to run a large inverter. Any info would be great. Thanks to all. Gary

Ummmm, ya sayin' a GO POWER inverter is the same as a MAGNUM inverter?

No. I did not say or imply that.

  • Go Power is an inverter only product and is generally pretty well made. That doesn't say it is PSW--but then my Cobra 2500 watt MSW would run a 1591 watt microwave.
  • I had an expensive coffee maker that died, maybe from using our MSW inverter. So I went to Walmart and bought a $10 Mr. Coffee. Coffee tastes exactly the same, it pulls less amps when running (900W v. 1100W), and if it does die one day (its over a year old) I will have gotten my money's worth.
  • try it or buy a cheap no-frills coffee pot. the heating elements won't care.

Personally I think the MSW issues are way over blown, yes some devices could have issues and I would avoid the bottom of the barrel (Harbor Frieght or similer) inverters PSW or MSW
  • Well I am installing a dedicated power line for the coffee maker to where the inverter will be going. Still up in the air if I want to go with MSW or PSW inverter. In the mean time, guess I will check to see if I can find a simple coffeemaker with just a on off switch. If not then it comes to, if I want to just gamble with the coffeemaker I have and a MSW inverter. Still got time before our next long road trip and still waiting to see what you people have to say.

I don't think there's much more to say about inverters, but there's plenty to say about how to make coffee.

Addiction costs money. No money - no quality stuff. Invest in a SW inverter or get your morning shot with a stove top coffee, isn't really inferior quality of tripping, just more messy.
  • Here's a tip. I have an inverter that sold for more than $2,000 MSW. Trace.

I connected it ALONG WITH A KILL-A-WATT to a coffeemaker called a brew-station. First with public power, then to my Trace 4024.

The wattage going into the brew-station was 120 higher with the Trace. It was connected for a second or two. Upon removal the device lost it's ability to program by clock. Forever.

Probabilities. Grab that peg and spin The Wheel Of Misfortune

I once had a digital timer coffee pot (Mr. Coffee) even my True Sine bothered it as did my Generator and it died young.

A Replacement has no timer,, Just an ON/OFF switch, works great. Same make, different model.
