All this reading has caused me to get off my lazy hump and re-install the PD9280 that we disconnected and removed when the Magnum MS-2012 was installed.
OP here. My "charger" that failed is a ME-2012. You might want to check your actual amp output as Magnum has made design/cost tradeoffs. My ME-2012 will only output 100A when the input is 120V AC at the Magnum AC input connectors and not at the gen output.
At 116V AC I only get 80A output. The remote display is also a design/cost tradeoff as it measures the AC input to display the DC amps output. At 116V input with 80A output the display says 100A DC! I have measured this and Magnum has confirmed the design/cost tradeoffs. In fact I thought I had defective equipment but Magnum indicated that it was working as designed. Your MS-2012 appears to have a little less "design/cost" tradeoffs.
Otherwise the Magnum inverter/converter is an excellent unit.
Hopefully I'll soon get input from Magnum regarding my reoptions.
How ironic!
I have seen well over 100A output from the Magnum charger, but I usually see about 5% less actual vs what the remote says its doing. I have tried not to run the charger wide open unless we really needed to charge that fast.
