Just -27 C yesterday and I happened to notice the pink stuff in the toilet bowl was solid. Not like water ice; more like frozen slushy. The antifreeze in the jug marked good to -50C was the same. I did a foolish thing buying two large jugs at an estate sale. It must have been antifreeze recovered from the guy's big motorhome with some water mixed in. It looked like new but is now clearly inferior to unused stuff with the same rating, which had no sign of freezing. Many people have said the pink stuff goes slushy but doesn't expand enough to break anything, which let me sleep well.We are having a Chinook today, with temperatures rebounding to 1 or 2 C above zero. I took advantage of that to heat up the MH and winterize again with a new jug. No damage apparent, though the toilet drain won't open.

Nothing wrong with your antifreeze. The pink stuff will turn to slush. It is supposed to do that. However, it will not expand when frozen consequently protecting from freeze damage.

There is nothing wrong with the antifreeze. It's suppose to get slushy when it gets below it's freezing temperature. The difference between RV antifreeze and water, is... water expands when it freezes. RV antifreeze does not. So it will not burst your pipes or valves or seals. You are OK. Nothing to worry about. Give mother-nature time to warm up and you'll be fine.

doing exactly what the bottle of RV antifreeze says. will not freeze solid, will protect from freeze damage, will turn to slush by around 0F and stay as slush to around -40F/C or lower.

I must be about as tight as you buying RV antifreeze from a yard sale. I use Bud Light and have never had a problem with it freezing up. In the spring we have a Motor home summerizing party. Don't waste anything.

I just drain lines.......blow air thru....leave faucets open and pour olive oil in toilet bowl

It doesn't freeze either.....just green slush

Don't even know what RV anti-freeze is :B

Because of the dang water content.

Pop the top.....freeze it then pour off and drink the cold liquid alcohol.

The freezing point of ethanol, or drinking alcohol, is -173 degrees Fahrenheit, and the freezing point of water is 32 degrees Fahrenheit. The more alcohol a beverage has, the lower its freezing point is.
