*2. I just replaced the two starting batteries on my FRED chassis with NAPA batteries. I use Costco for deep cycle, but not starting batteries. NAPA was only a couple dollars more than Costco, and they had the size I needed in stock. Good warranty. Anywhere I travel. - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerIt's a hundred dollar car jar not a thirteen hundred dollar single Rolls cell. That does not include the steel tub.
- CJW8ExplorerMaybe the NAPA dealer is the BIL of the Motorhome dealer. We don't know. OP said his new MH came with a NAPA battery, Nuf said. I've mixed new and old before and the world didn't end. What's a guy to do when he has 4ea 1 year old batteries and one goes bad? Replace them all so they have the same birthday? I think not.
- stew47Explorerhere at the firehouse where I work we use napa batteries on every truck and even boats and standby generator. Never had any problems.
- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerIf it were mine IMHO I would stick another NAPA in alongside and go have a tall glass of iced-tea and pretend it was beer. Gasoline at least down here ain't cheap -easy to burn fifteen dollars worth trying to save ten.
Something aesthetcally pleasing about having same brand batteries in a cluster.
My comment about no East Penn on the Left Coast was made because I drastically prefer East Penn over US Battery. When US Battery gets their own lead smelter and stops with the Herb Tarlick grade miraclr alloy circus pitch I might take them more seriously. Miracle diamond grid selenium alloy plates my ass. - Dusty_RExplorerBrand NEW 2015 Itasca mh with a NAPA battery for the coach.

We have a new mh with a one NAPA house battery. I would like to add a second battery, parralled. I like Deka batteries. So if this NAPA is made by Deka that would be a good way to go.
Thanks,

So, you have a USED battery and you are adding a NEW battery?
Since your existing battery is not brand new you are basically wasting money by excessively worrying about the manufacturer of said battery..
Your new battery capacity will be affected by the existing used battery and most likely both batteries will not charge at the same rate nor will they discharge at the same rate.. They are only as good as the WEAKEST in the chain..
Not to mention every battery (even from the same batch) will have slightly different charge/discharge rates..
I would not pay the extra money for a NAPA, Sears DiHard ect..
Go to Sam's or Costco and get what battery size will fit your space.. It WILL work just as well..
:R
Well do you suppose that the motor home manufacturer put a NAPA battery into a NEW motor home?
I think not.. That existing NAPA battery is not what ANY vehicle comes with from factory, period..
Motor home manufacturer would have used whatever battery came with the chassis and if the battery was not supplied by the chassis manufacturer they would have bought DIRECT from a real battery supplier at WHOLESALE PRICES..
NAPA is not an OEM "supplier", they are a AFTERMARKET RETAIL supplier.. They sell AFTERMARKET REPAIR PARTS TO THE PUBLIC AT RETAIL PRICES.
I am assuming the OP bought the motor home used and the previous owner put the NAPA battery in..
If they bought in new then most likely the RV dealer put the battery in and the OP paid several times more than they should have for a battery. - RJsfishinExplorerSo do you suppose they put an old Napa battery in a new MH ?
