Mar 19, 2014Thanks for the replies and the links to the old genny threads.
The trailer came with one battery only and no inverter. It has the three-stage WF-8955 converter.
I will be adding a second battery soon and will start looking for an inverter large enough to run the TV, satellite receiver, laptop, and cell phone chargers. I'm not sure at this time if I will have the inverter professionally installed and tied to the existing electrical outlets, or just get a portable inverter and connect it to the batteries and use an extension cord.
The reason for wanting to transport the genny inside the trailer is because the TV is a SUV, and I don't want to add a rack/carrier to the flimsy back bumper on the trailer that will collapse and fall in the middle of the road.
Based on the comments here and in the old threads, it seems that a 2,000 watt genny should work for my needs, with the exception of running the AC. I would love to get a bigger genny capable of running the AC, but they are too heavy for me. Besides, like someone else mentioned, most campgrounds have limited genny hours and running an AC on a generator all day is not allowed.
So far, Amazon seems to have the best price for the Champion for $581 plus $31 for shipping.
