The one on Amazon and their website is not the same as the one in the article. There is no app for the phone and the display won't show on the phone since there is no app as described in the article.
As the article says, "This product already exists, though the newest model that’s getting ready to hit Indiegogo adds an integrated smartphone app that connects you to your tank by way of a Bluetooth connection."
As the article says, the existing one does not have the B/T interface... and that's the one I ordered. The existing one. - fj12ryderExplorer IIIThe one on Amazon and their website is not the same as the one in the article. It shows on the local display, but no app. I was interested in that for my grandson, he loves stuff that he can do with his phone, perfect for his smoker and BBQ.
If you find the app, please let me know. TIA. - SaltiDawgExplorer

Good luck finding the scale shown in the article. It doesn't seem to exist, and inquiries to the company are not answered.
I just ordered my from amazon.com - same price as the manufacturer's www site. - coolbreeze01ExplorerMy gas grill has the scale. I'm not sure when it quit working, but several years ago. Like others, I have two tanks, and don't run out.

- SaltiDawgExplorerI would assume one has to enter the Tare weight of the cylinder - it's stamped on the ring collar.
Only intended to work with the 20# cylinder.
"The weight of your propane tank is located on the collar. The number will be similar or the same as the numbers preprogramed into your GasWatch: 16.6lb, 17.0lb, 17.6lb, 18.0lb, and 19.0lb" - dclark1946ExplorerThe newer 20# tanks are now available with a true float type guage. I have replaced my trailer tanks with them and will do the same for our grill.
I would think that there is no reason the 30# tanks could not be equipped the same way.

- pigman1ExplorerI use one and love it. We run the coach propane from a pair of 20# bottles when set up so we don't have to take down the rig and go to town for gas.
- fj12ryderExplorer IIIKind of a cool idea, but I always keep a spare full tank around so I don't run out. And I use a 30# tank for the smoker.
