P.S. My 20-25 year old Weber BBQ grill on the deck has a weight scale contents gage on it. Ultra reliable too - no batteries or electronics involved. The gage mechancism is a steel fail-proof mechanism.
This is nothing more then a digital scale. I've had Weber grills for many decades... my current Weber is enclosed under the grill with a spring scale available there to hang the cylinder on. The problem is I am no longer strong enough to lift the bottle to hook it on the spring scale. This little gadget is perfect for my application.
I suspect it is not of use in an RV due to the need to restrain the cylinder to prevent motion.
The gadget scale does "alarm" if the bottle gets low... I don't get the need to send a alarm to a phone or iPad by B/T??? I mean the beep should be adequate. lol - fj12ryderExplorer III

A lot of those see-through tanks were recalled for safety reasons.
IMHO, the ultimate propane level indicator in accuracy and dependability, year after year, for RVs would be the tanks that are made out of spun fiberglass so that you can just look at the tank to see the liquid level shadow right through the fiberglass.
I've seen spun fiberglass 5 gallon BBQ propane tanks that one can visually see the liquid level in. But does anyone know if the large built-in propane tanks on RVs can be bought in the spun fiberglass type?

Just give me a good old fashioned scale (analog or digital.)

He'd love this if it would work through his phone. Guess I'll wait for them to update the device.
- SaltiDawgExplorerI received my order today. Took five minutes to get it up and running. My 20# propane cylinder is under my Weber Grill. This is absolutely perfect for my needs!
It does have audible low level alarms... guess the next generation B/T connection to your smart phone would alert you if you were in the head close to the grill. :R - monkey44Nomad IIGreat -- was looking for at least ONE more thing to ding my phone, as if we don't get enough already. And, one more piece of technology to fail.
We can easily shake it, OR, get a gauge ... we have two tanks, and a gauge. :) - jandjbaumsExplorerI have 5 20# tanks so Im really good!
- mrw8iExplorerI use a bathroom scale. Pain in the butt to disconnect and weigh before each trip, but works.
